DEI and Belonging Consultant
Karen S. Jones has over thirty years of experience in human resources management, career development, and Diversity and Inclusion, for both profit and nonprofit organizations. Most recently Karen joined the GCS team as the Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging Consultant who provides subject matter expert advice, insight, and strategic direction on DEI initiatives and training solutions.
Karen was formally the Director of Diversity and Inclusion at the world-renowned Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD. Her areas of expertise included establishing and operating diversity councils, business resource groups, unconscious bias training, and group facilitation of culturally sensitive conversations. Under Karen’s leadership, Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center was named among the Top 25 Diversity Councils for five years by the Association of ERG and Diversity Councils. While at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, in collaboration with other departments of the Hospital, Karen co-facilitated ‘Conversations of Social Justice’, a town hall forum for staff to discuss social justice topics occurring within the surrounding communities.
Karen holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Towson State University in Baltimore, MD, and a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Counseling from Lancaster Bible College, Lancaster, PA.
